No Rain. No Flowers.

You know what they say. No rain. No flowers. So don’t get bundle up in your cozy PJs just yet, or you might miss all the fun. Put on your rain coat and boots, and come jump in the puddles with your gal. After all, there’s no such thing as bad weather only a bad outfit worn at the wrong time.

Clearly, rainy days are still in this week’s weather forecast although they seem to have a subtle way of showing us how to put things into perspective. So there I was, on a gloomy Sunday, looking through my window at this drizzly scenery and telling myself how my day was going to be such a waste. Sigh. Imagine if I had woken up to a beautiful sunny morning hearing the whistling of birds just like in those fairy tale movies. I would’ve felt so alive and enthusiastic ready to conquer the world. Instead, I woke up in a black and white silent short film where my character was only aloud to fake that sadly overdramatic look. Guess I didn’t make the cut for the right cast.

Somehow lost between my thoughts on what I was having for lunch and my long moans against the bad weather, I found myself growing fond of the floating clouds and dainty shower. When we truly think of it, we realize that ultimately rain does way more good than harm and we have to see things from a different perspective to understand its positive outcome. Without rain, everything would be so dry and lifeless. Rain gives to nature, the strength to grow. It creates life and immerses us in the beauty of nature’s dynamic. It washes off the dirt from yesterday and gives a chance of a fresh start tomorrow.

Slowly the sunbeams were bursting through the clouds and I was having a change of heart. I put on my trench coat and while the show was still on, went for a walk in the neighbourhood reflecting on all those rainy moments in my life that made me a stronger woman now.
