Those who know me well know that I have a deep love affair with anything that tastes sweet. So, if you ask me how do I like my eggs in the morning? Well, it wouldn’t be so surprising if I tell you that I obviously like them in a cake! And, now that my little sweet secret is all in the open, I should also tell you that I could use any kind of celebration as an excuse to get my taste buds satisfied with a mouthwatering portion of chocolate cake or in this case delicious Parisian-like macaroons.
All jokes aside, I truly believe that every day should be celebrated and I’m not just saying this to get away with my compulsive pastry addiction. Every morning, when we open our eyes confronting the bare sun, there’s a new opportunity that awaits us. It’s a chance for us to achieve greater and do better. At the end of the day, when we look back at our long hours of hard work and all the efforts we’ve put in that day, we’re left with that feeling of accomplishment and that’s what we should live for and celebrate intuitively. It’s so easy to get caught up with the negative side of things and let our mistakes or misfortunes bring us down when all we should truly focus on is what we have now and how far we’ve come.
Life is about celebrating every little milestone reached and being proud of the progress we make as we go, as big or small as it can be. The way I see it is the more we celebrate our life and the more grateful we are, the more there is in life to be celebrated and to be grateful for. It’s about recognizing what’s in front of us and being thankful for where we are at this exact moment. Celebrating every single one of our milestones is to realize that our hard work payed off. We have to be our number one fan and strive to see our journey in a brighter more positive perspective.
So treat yourself everyday or every other day with a little portion of cake, if you’re like me, or anything else you prefer. Just take that time in your day to shed light on everything worth celebrating in your life that brought you one step closer to where you want to be; on a personal level, career wise, spirituality, or all of the above. Be grateful in every way possible, because there’s still so much to be grateful for.
