How To Make 2018 the Best Year Ever

The arrival of the new year can trigger all sorts of emotions; sadness, happiness, excitement. Personally, I find myself in this confusing state where I’m sadden by the year that just flew by and yet excited for the next one to come. I’m not sure if it’s because of all the holiday food that I have been stuffing myself with the past couple of days, but I have this tangled ball of emotions inside of me while I’m counting down the last seconds until the new year.

Here I am feeling very nostalgic about all the great moments that 2017 has offered me and grateful for all the opportunities that have been sent my way throughout the year. In some way, I also feel relieved that the year is finally over and I can have my fresh new start. New year, new me, they say! Am I right?

A huge step for me now is acknowledging all the progress that I made so far in my life and be proud of what I’ve achieved, but also admitting that there’s still a lot of improvement to be made. 2018 is not going to be about erasing all the steps I made so far, but rather starting a new journey with a suitcase of all the lessons I learned and the growth I’ve made. Therefore, I’m looking forward for the next year, because there’s still so much I want to achieve and for that I’m setting myself new ways to make the next year the best one yet.

How I will make 2018 the best year ever:

  1. Allow myself to explore all sorts of directions.
  2. Give myself the space I need.
  3. Think less. Do more.
  4. Be present & engage with life.
  5. Make the best of my time.
